Po úspěšné monografii o Janu Kubišovi se nakladatelství TVÁŘE vrací k této významné osobnosti našich dějin. Kniha se zaměřuje nejen na osudy Kubiše, ale i na jednadvacet jeho krajanů, kteří během druhé světové války absolvovali parašutistický výcvik v československé zahraniční armádě. Polovina z nich se zapojila do plánovaných výsadkových operací, zatímco ostatní byli přiřazeni k československým a spojeneckým jednotkám. Sedm mužů, včetně Kubiše, bylo vysazeno v rámci různých paraskupin do okupovaného Československa, kde plnili bojové a zpravodajské úkoly. Kniha také popisuje životní osudy vojáků, kteří byli zařazeni do paraskupin, ale k jejich vysazení nedošlo, jako byli Vojmír Matus a Pavel Hodáč. Další hrdinové, kteří nebyli zařazeni do výsadkových operací, se dočkali konce války v bojovém nasazení u Československé samostatné obrněné brigády nebo ve spojenecké armádě Svobodné Francie. Smutný osud potkal Ladislava Zahrádku, který tragicky zemřel v Anglii. Autory knihy jsou historici z Moravského zemského muzea a další odborníci.
