Shakespeare and his works have enduring popularity with people of every age and The Jarrold Poets Series' William Shakespeare Sonnets is a delightful volume to own or to give to others. Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date: No poetic compositions of any author or age have evoked so much admiration and commentary as Shakespeare's sonnets. The identity of the handsome youth, the dark lady and the rival poet have for decades intrigued readers and scholars alike. The lyrical beauty and power of the verses is, however, undeniable and shine through in this volume which is based on the original, written in the last decade of the sixteenth century and published in 1609. All 144 of Shakespeare's sonnets are now collected in this pocket-sized volume, with its charming cover illustrating Shakespeare and a seventeenth-century engraving of the Globe Theatre. Shakespeare and his works have enduring popularity with people of every age and The Jarrold Poets Series' William Shakespeare Sonnets is a delightful volume to own or to give to others.

    • Contains four stories, written between 1900 and 1902. One of them reveals the differences between instinct and intelligence in a partnership vital to human survival; and the other contains 'land-stories' that explore the utter isolation of an East European emigrant in England and in the other, the plight of a woman.

This biography was first published in 1982. Martin Seymour-Smith had known Robert Graves since early boyhood, and had lived in his house for more than three years. He wrote it with Grave's help, at his home in Deya, while Graves' (sometime) mistress and muse, the notorious Laura Riding, was still alive. Since then, some of the material Seymour-Smith deliberately suppressed has been aired, and is no longer as sensitive as it was. In this revised, expanded and largely rewritten edition, he sets the record straight.

Odmítá pokrytectví, byrokracii, manipulaci a staví proti nim fakta, obyčejnou slušnost, pochopení lidských slabostí i zdravý rozum.
