Šestero pohádek nejen o trpaslících. Kniha pohádek Tajemství strýce Erika (patero pohádek nejen o trpaslících) je výběrem z pohádek, které autor nejprve vyprávěl svému synovi. Teprve později je sepsal a sestavil z nich „samizdatovou“ ilustrovanou knížku. Nakladatelství Meander z této knížky přináší pětici pohádek, k nimž autorské ilustrace nahradily ilustrace Jiřího Sopka. Sugestivně vyprávěné pohádky ze současnosti jsou propojeny fantaskními prvky a jsou zajímavou syntézou moderní pohádky s pohádkou tradiční.

Kniha s předmluvou Václava Havla přináší soubor článků z let, kdy Jan Jařab (* 1965) působil na Úřadu vlády České republiky pro lidská práva a kdy byl vládním zmocněncem pro lidská práva.
