Trilussa Books
Carlo Alberto Salustri, more famously known by his pseudonym Trilussa, was an Italian dialect poet celebrated for his works in the Roman dialect. His poetry, often composed as sonnets, vividly portrays the lives of Rome's petite-bourgeoisie while offering sharp satire against governments and the vices of the wealthy. Many of his poems adopt the structure of Aesop-like moralistic fables, conveying timeless wisdom. Trilussa uniquely integrated his own sketches and drawings with his verses, creating a distinctive artistic fusion. His writing, drawing inspiration directly from street life and taverns, gained widespread acclaim for its unique voice and social commentary.
