Originally published in two volumes by Carta, Jerusalem. Yohanan Aharoni (1919-1976) was born in Germany, June 7, 1919, and immigrated to Palestine in 1933. He became the professor of archeology, chairman of the Department of Archeology and the Near East Studies and chairman of the Institute of Archeology at the University of Tel-Aviv.
