Conrad Aiken was an American poet and prose writer whose works intensely explored psychoanalysis and the development of identity. His role as editor of Emily Dickinson's Selected Poems was instrumental in establishing her posthumous literary reputation. His fascination with the human psyche and the search for meaning permeates his writing.
