Janie Ritson

Janie Ritson retired after a 22-year career with the RSPCA, beginning as a volunteer and rising to management. It was during her volunteer work at a local animal center that she met her husband, Tony, an RSPCA Inspector. Together, they have shared their home with a diverse array of creatures, from macaws to pet sheep. Janie now dedicates her time to caring for her animals, husband, four daughters, and nine grandchildren.

    Hoping for a Home
    • This is a collection of stories from the life of an RSPCA rescue worker. Janie Ritson shows us the full and wondrous lives of those animals neglected and forgotten. Her encounters range from the truly poignant to the utterly hilarious, including a lovesick macaw, a tea-stealing goat and a sheep who thinks she's a dog.
