Alpheus Hyatt Verrill

    Hyatt Verrill was a prolific American author and scientist whose work spanned a wide range of subjects from natural history to travel and science fiction. Verrill participated in numerous archaeological expeditions, and his extensive travels throughout the Americas and the Caribbean informed his writing. He illustrated many of his own works, and his science fiction stories were noted for their readability, even if sometimes described as somewhat stodgy. Verrill was one of the most successful and productive writers of his time, leaving behind a substantial literary legacy.
