Edwin Corle Books

Edwin Corle was noted for his realistic portrayals of Native American life in the early 20th century. After a brief stint writing for radio, he dedicated himself to numerous short stories and non-fiction pieces for magazines. His acclaimed novel, Fig Tree John, was inspired by a Cahuilla Indian from southern California, showcasing his profound interest in the region and its people. Corle also delved into the arts with works on Igor Stravinsky and Merle Armitage, and began an ambitious multi-volume novel exploring California's history, though it remained unfinished.
