Hans Ruesch

    May 17, 1913 – August 27, 2007

Hans Ruesch was a novelist whose work offered a critical perspective on human nature and society. Born in Naples to an Italian-speaking Swiss mother and a German-speaking Swiss father, Ruesch's literary style is characterized by sharp irony and penetrating psychological analysis of his characters. Beyond his literary pursuits, he was a prominent activist against animal experimentation and vivisection, a commitment that informed his ethical considerations in both life and writing.
