Robert Atkinson

Robert Atkinson was captivated by the Hebrides, first visiting in 1936 and returning each summer until the outbreak of World War II. His extensive travels throughout the islands, even to their remotest outliers, informed his writing. While serving in the RNVR, he penned works that explored his profound connection to these islands and their people. One of his books became a celebrated travel classic, while another, discovered shortly before his death, revealed further depths of his fascination with the Hebrides.
