Written by Marie Wallin:Once upon a time is a celebration of British traditional children's handknits with a hint of crochet, inpsired by the vintage patterning of the 1940's and 1950's, these modern and classic fit garments are perfect projects for mums and grandmas alike and fun for the kids to wear too. The collection includes some of my signature fairisles and detailing, with a selection of the garments having optional crochet trims. These added embellishments make the garments unique, but of course it's your choice if you add them or not! The designs are knitted using two of my all time favourite Rowan yarns, Felted Tweed and Cocoon. 'Once upon a time' was photographed by the lovely Vanessa Davies at the Great Central Railway in Rothley and Quorn, Leicestershire. The children featured in this collection are my great nieces, Laila and Sienna with Archie, Freddie and Neil being the children of friends.
