This German philologist, jurist, and mythologist is best known as the discoverer of Grimm's Law and the author of the monumental German Dictionary and Deutsche Mythologie. Together with his brother Wilhelm, he is popularly known as one of the Brothers Grimm, as the editor of Grimm's Fairy Tales.

Schloss Buddenburg an der Lippe bestimmte mehrere Jahrhunderte das Landschaftsbild in und um Lippholthausen. Es war im Familienbesitz der westf lischen Uradelsfamilie von Frydag zu Buddenburg. Schloss Buddenburg, das sp ter in den Besitz der Stadt L nen berging, steht l ngst nicht mehr. Heute pr gen hohe Industriet rme das Landschaftsbild um seinen ehemaligen Standort.
