Jean Le Rond d Alembert Biography

Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert was a French mathematician, physicist, and philosopher. He is recognized for his significant contributions to mathematics and physics, including his formula for solving the wave equation, which is sometimes referred to as d'Alembert's equation. D'Alembert also developed a ratio test to determine the convergence of a series. His analytical work on vibrating strings, in particular, laid important groundwork for modern theoretical physics.
