Kniha obsahuje drobné úvahy, záznamy a postřehy osobitého francouzského básníka, jím samým datované 1936–1974. Svazek tvoří dvě knihy zápisků jihofrancouzského básníka, které jsou zároveň svéráznými básnickými záznamy. Na přebalu a frontispisu kresby Vincenta van Gogha.

Zaorálek) a na kterou navázala velká anketa „Céline v Čechách“ v RR č. 74/2008. Kniha vychází v grafické úpravě Viktora Karlíka a Luďka Kubíka.
Death on the Installment Plan is the story of young Ferdinand's first 18 years.
