A sudden accident first brought together Hachiman Hikigaya, Yukino Yukinoshita, and Yui Yuigahama. Then they became the Service Club, helping others with their woes while working through their own complicated emotions. As the club now fulfills one last job--throwing the best interschool prom they can--the trio must think about how their relationship has changed and what future lies ahead for them. The Soubu High School Prom plan plays out, and all involved in this alternate sham version wrap up their roles and duties. Hachiman sets up karaoke to show his appreciation for the volunteers' hard work. But after the party, Yui has a request of her own-"There's something I'd like to talk about. Would you hear me out?"
Haruno orders Hachiman to leak the plans. Falling right in Haruno's trap, Yukino's Mother goes to the school to put a stop to the prom! And as Yukino and Hachiman discuss what happened with their little "competition," something between them begins to shift...

While looking at possible gifts, the two of them...look an awful lot like a couple?! But the day after, Iroha abruptly makes a face and enters the classroom, her brief comment bringing dark clouds looming over the prom's opening...
The calendar reads March, but the buds of new hope are far from blooming. Yukino, Yui, and Hachiman are finally trying to put their feelings into words and act on them--but doing that means ending their relationship as it is now. As much as they wish things could stay like this forever, a new day cannot dawn until the beautiful sunset gives way to night.
