Ching Y. Bezine

Born in northern China in 1937, this author's early life was marked by war and displacement, leading her from Shanghai to Taiwan. Despite fulfilling family expectations by becoming a lawyer and marrying according to her family's choice, she left her husband at 25 to emigrate to the United States. There, as a single mother, she achieved academic success in fine arts and became the author of fourteen bestselling books in Chinese. Her American literary debut followed her marriage to an American psychologist, and her works often explore themes of identity and the journey through life.
