Chladná ruka v mojí dlani vyšla v originále poprvé v roce 1975 a patří k Aickmanovým nejlepším sbírkám povídek. Mezi jejími osmi příběhy je zahrnuta i povídka „Stránky z deníku mladé dívky“, která získala cenu World Fantasy Award.
