"Are mass evangelistic campaigns effective? Who comes to an evangelistic campaign? Are local churches involved? How are attendees impacted by the event? Are people really being saved and healed? Is follow-up effective? How can the methods of evangelists be improved? The goal of this study was to use surveys of an evangelistic event in Caicó, Brazil to examine these important questions. The surveys collected at an evangelistic event in Caicó, Brazil revealed the number of people in attendance, how many prayed for salvation, how many witnessed a miracle, and how many were discipled by local churches after the event was over. The participation of local believers was measured, and the opinions of local church pastors both before and after the event were recorded. The data collected illustrates the impact an evangelistic event had on a city. After evaluating biblical, theological, historical, and current literture on mass evangelism it was found that large evangelistic events continue to be a valuable method of evangelism, especially in the context of a developing nation."--Abstract
