Exploring the emergence of Green political ideology, this thesis highlights its relatively recent development within political theory, particularly since the 1970s. Despite the rapid growth of Green literature, the concept has often been overlooked, with significant discourse only beginning in the mid-1990s. The work critically examines the debates surrounding the legitimacy and independence of Green ideology, addressing the ongoing scholarly contention regarding its status as a distinct political framework.
