Gösta Knutsson was a Swedish radio producer and writer, best known for his beloved series of children's books about the cat Pelle Svanslös. This good-hearted, though often naive, cat, whose tail was lost in a childhood encounter with a rat, captured the imaginations of young readers. Knutsson set his anthropomorphic feline tales primarily in the charming university city of Uppsala, populating them with a cast of memorable characters.
