William Gallacher was a prominent Scottish trade unionist and activist, recognized as a leading figure in the Shop Stewards' Movement during wartime Glasgow. As a founding member of the Communist Party of Great Britain, he dedicated his life to advocating for workers' rights and political change. His career culminated in his service as the last Communist Member of Parliament, representing his commitment to his ideals on a national stage.
