Viktor von Weizsäcker
April 21, 1886 – January 9, 1957
Viktor von Weizsäcker was a German physician and physiologist renowned for his pioneering work in psychosomatic medicine and theories of medical anthropology. His concept of Gestaltkreis, an elaboration of Gestalt psychology, posits that biological events are not fixed responses but are dependent on prior experience and constantly repatterned. Through Gestalt, he sought to theoretically represent the unity of perception and movement. His work profoundly influenced the understanding of the mind-body connection in human experience.
