Josef Maršálek

Josef Maršálek is a Czech baker and confectioner.
He grew up in a small village as one of four siblings. At the request of his parents, he graduated from high school before training as a baker and confectioner. While studying at a hotel college, he began working abroad, first in Bath and then, towards the end of his studies, in Harrods department store in London. He worked there for seven years, winning awards for chef of the year and manager of the year, and his desserts were sampled by the British Royal Family. After a year in India, he returned to Prague in 2018, where he was an employee at CakeShop Prague and founded his own brand Fat Brothers.
In 2020, 2022 and 2024, he was a judge on Czech Television's "The Whole Country is Baking". He runs baking courses. In June 2020, he married his partner, Petr Tejml.
