John Retcliffe Biography
Operating under an English pseudonym, this author was a Prussian chauvinist novelist whose historical romances were primarily known for their overt antisemitism. His works often critiqued British colonialism, revealing a deep-seated aversion to Britain. In his novel Biarritz, he plagiarized and added a fictional account of a secret rabbinical cabal, which became a notorious source for later antisemitic propaganda.
