Bishop Demetri's book, "Saints and Martyrs from the Holy Land," is a great contribution to our Orthodox religious library and all those who are interested in the lives of the saints. Bishop Demetri was fortunate to be born not far from the gates of the holy city of Jerusalem. He walked where Jesus walked and breathed the same air which Jesus breathed. He spent his childhood in the shadow of Bethlehem, Nazareth, Mount Tabor, Calvary and the empty tomb. Palestine is a land of prophets, apostles, saints, martyrs and church fathers. We commend Bishop Demetri for writing this volume and we recommend it to all readers, Orthodox and non-Orthodox alike. Presented in a modern narrative way, the hundreds of lives range from a paragraph to 5 pages in length. It is a handy source for information about the prophets and apostles (the 12 and the 70), about whom it is sometimes difficult to find quick information. There is an extensive glossary and listing of the Synaxarion of the Church of Jerusalem.

"My Many Thoughts" is about a person growing up living basically alone in the world. The only two things that she really has to confide in is pen and paper. Watch her grow from a confused teenager to a very talented and spiritual person. These poems and short stories are about my struggles with my childhood until my early adult life. This is a book of poetry that was inspired by the spirit within me, while I was serving a five year sentence in Hardwick Ga. Woman's correctional Prison. While I was in prison, I realized that although they can lock up my body, they can not lock up my mind or my soul. There are many different prisons to be in. You may be out in the working world and still be in prison in your life. No matter what kind of prison you are in, the only one who can set you free is God. Don't let your prison lock you up. Set your mind and soul free. I hope when you read "Freedom Within" you will learn how to be free while you are in your prison. I also hope you find the key that will open ALL prison doors.

There are six stories in this collection. They are not short stories; they are more properly called novelettes, small novels. The stories are all different and as original as one can find in literature today.The first story, 'The End of a World,' is about a man who predicts the end of a world. The second one, 'Privacy,' is about male and female privacy. Each sex should get equal privacy, right? Don't bet on it!The third story, 'The Presidential Simulator,' is another of the popular Krong The Watcher stories. The Watchers build for John and Jane Doe, a machine on which a person can practice being President, much like a pilot learning how to fly a new airplane without actually flying the plane. Also, a person can take a test to find out a person's qualifications to be president, and the fun is started. Too bad we didn't have such a Presidential Simulator for the last election, and for future elections.The forth story, 'Jailhouse Kill,' is the story of a locked room perfect crime. If you like crime stories, you will like this one!The fifth story, 'At The Ends of the Rainbow,' is a story of myth, legend, and fable. After reading this story, you will never see a rainbow without remembering it!The sixth and last story, 'The Island,' is a story of ideas, philosophy, ethics, principles, and morality. This story examines the truth of pacifism, pacifism which has a lot to do with the above words!

Bert Maynard a trout fisherman had an inspiration one day and comes up with his Biggest and Best Big use a robot fishing lure to catch fish with. Catching fish with a robot fishing lure would be like catching fish in a bait tank! Bert hurries off to see Krong. Bert is in Huntington Beach, California, at the time. Krong agrees to make some robot fishing lures, and Bert leaves and goes back to Troutville, USA, where he lives near the best brook trout fishing; the best lake trout fishing; and the best brown trout fishing in all the world, its location is a well kept secret!Some months later Bert gets his robot fishing lures, called robot fishing lures or RFLs. Bert names his two RFLs, Willy and Tilly. Troutville, USA, has a trout tournament each year, which Bert has done very well at, being one hell of a fisherman. He figures with Willy and Tilly he has The Grand Slam sewed to win each of the three trout brook, lake, and brown trout; for some kind of big prize money and the prestige of winning The Grand Slam!Unbeknownst to Bert, his big competition, Jack Cheater Swiller, comes up with the same Big Idea almost at the same time, and, the Watchers, being fair minded, give Cheater some RFLs too.Unbeknownst to Cheater, Bert gets Willy and Tilly and the battle is on!Can Bert Maynard and Willy The Wonder Fish and Tilly The Wonder Fish win The Grand Slam trout tournament and beat Jack (the Cheater) Swiller and his RFLs?!
