Thom Gunn

Thom Gunn was an Anglo-American poet celebrated for his early verses in England and his later work in America. His style evolved from more formal structures towards a looser, free-verse approach. After relocating to San Francisco, Gunn explored themes of gay life, drug use, sex, and his bohemian existence. His writing is noted for its directness and keen observation of human experience.
