While complete in itself, it reflects the author's broader ambitions, which may be revisited if demand arises. The limited interest in Chinese Literature, the high costs of necessary illustrations, and the author's shifting focus to other areas of philology contributed to the decision to abandon the original plan. Forgotten Books publishes numerous rare and classic texts, utilizing advanced technology to digitally reconstruct historical works. This edition aims to preserve the original format while addressing imperfections found in aged copies. Although some flaws from the original may be replicated, most are repaired to ensure the integrity of the historical work is maintained.
