Charles Chaillé-Long was an American soldier, lawyer, diplomat, and author. He is recognized for his explorations in Central Africa, where he was the second Westerner to visit Lake Victoria. He is credited with discovering Lake Kyoga, also known as Lake Ibrahim. His diplomatic and exploratory endeavors earned him acclaim, and his writings reflect his extensive travels and discoveries in new territories.
