Vít Slíva

    January 11, 1951

Vít Slíva is a contemporary Czech poet whose work is deeply influenced by his admiration for Vladimír Holan. His verses are characterized by a specific worldview, and during the 1980s, a loose association of poets, sometimes referred to as the Královo Pole School, formed around his artistic influence. Slíva dedicated many years to teaching Czech and Latin, a dedication that perhaps is reflected in the precision and linguistic refinement of his poetry. His literary contributions have been recognized, underscoring his significance in contemporary Czech poetry.
