Tatian

Tatian was an Assyrian early Christian writer and theologian whose work demonstrates a profound engagement with biblical texts and philosophy. His most significant contribution is the Diatessaron, a harmony of the four Gospels that became a standard text in Syriac churches. Tatian's conversion was driven by his revulsion towards pagan cults, leading him to become a student of Justin Martyr, with whom he shared a philosophical approach to religion. His writings and ascetic views profoundly shaped the development of the Syrian church and early Christian theology.
