Antoni Pogorelski

    Antony Pogorelsky was a Russian prose writer whose remarkable set of stories drew from German fantastic traditions and anticipated the works of later Russian literary giants. He is celebrated for writing the first Russian book focused on childhood, a fairy tale penned for his nephew. Pogorelsky's novel, a blend of sentimental and romantic elements, was also met with acclaim from the public and critics alike.
