Jim Dutcher shifted his focus to wolves after a distinguished filmmaking career. For six years, he and his wife lived in a wilderness camp, documenting the social dynamics and behaviors of a wolf pack they raised from pups. Their immersive experiences resulted in three Emmy Award-winning documentaries that revealed the intelligence and compassion of these animals. Facing ongoing persecution fueled by public fear and misinformation, the Dutchers founded Living With Wolves to address complex conservation issues and advocate against harmful hunting laws.
