Questo volume, a cura di Pierangela Diadori, direttore del centro DITALS, è il frutto di un lavoro collettivo maturato nell'ambito dell'Università per Stranieri di Siena ed è nato per dare risposta alle esigenze formative dei docenti. Affronta, infatti, i punti chiave della didattica dell'italiano a stranieri pensando a coloro che si stanno affacciando (o si sono affacciati da poco) alle professioni ad essa correlate (docenti, tutor, mentor, facilitatori, autori di materiali), che si interessano a questo settore di studio per scopi di ricerca o che intendono prepararsi per ottenere una certificazione didattica o altro titolo attinente.
