Philip Van Doren Stern Books
Philip Van Doren Stern was an American author and editor, renowned for his story "The Greatest Gift," which inspired the classic film "It's a Wonderful Life." He was a respected Civil War historian, authoring and editing over 40 books that scholars deemed "authoritative." As an editor, he compiled and annotated collections of short stories and the writings of figures like Abraham Lincoln, Edgar Allan Poe, and Henry David Thoreau. During World War II, he managed the production of pocket-sized books for military personnel.
