Bulgaria, European Union. News spreads through the village of Fertile like lightning: the half-ruined house of the drunkard Vanchy has been purchased by John, a subject of the English queen. The property deal, made according to all the local negligence, marks the beginning of John's acquaintance with the peculiarities of the Slavic mentality, and the villagers' introduction to the strange English worldview. John's attempts to fit into the reality of the Bulgarian village, where almost every resident seeks to exploit him for their not always legal interests, give rise to a multitude of comic situations that inevitably change and intertwine the two different worlds.
