Der Gymnasialprofessor Paul Brandt (1875–1929) übersetzte als «Hans Licht» erstmals Lukians Schrift ins Deutsche, da sich Christoph Martin Wieland, der bedeutende Lukian-Übersetzer, damit nicht hatte «beschmutzen» wollen.
