In the 1780's Elizabeth (Betsy) Sheridan kept a journal which she sent in the form of weekly letters to her elder sister in Dublin. Recounting with vivacity the details of her social world, her letters give an entertaining picture of the respectable Bohemian set of the late 18th-century.
