Tausende Menschen hörten Segatashyas öffentliche Reden und bekehrten sich. Obwohl er viel erleiden musste, staunten die Menschen über seine Demut und über seine spirituelle Weisheit. Bald beeindruckte der Junge die Theologen und Gelehrten durch sein umfassendes Wissen. Die Ärzte und Psychiater, die ihn untersuchten, bestätigten seine psychische Gesundheit. Immaculée Ilibagizas selbst war oft in Kibeho und Zeugin vieler Wunder, die dort geschahen. Sie hat auch die Visionärinnen persönlich kennengelernt. Die Erscheinungen von Kibeho sind die einzigen Marienerscheinungen in Afrika, die vom Vatikan für die Gesamtkirche anerkannt wurden.
