When they arrive on Seacrow Island the Melkerson family have doubts about their choice of summer vacation, their little cottage is rundown, and it's pouring with rain, but it's not long before they're won over by the fun, adventure, and friendships that the island has to offer.
Che fatica essere un gatto! Tutti ti afferrano, ti stritolano e ti strizzano come se fossi un cuscino e non un animale in carne e ossa. Per non parlare di quando il tuo padrone ti affibbia un nome ridicolo, ti sgrida, ti obbliga a mangiare quello che vuole lui facendoti diventare così grasso da non riuscire neanche più a saltare. Molto meglio essere un gatto libero e senza nome!
Poi non venite a lamentarvi che vi siete spaventati. Perché questo è un libro che fa paura, che più di uno scossone lo dà. Siamo nello stesso autobus del brivido che forse conoscete, ormai malridotto e bloccato nel cimitero delle automobili. Fuori piove e i quattro ragazzi che vi si sono rifugiati si trovano ad ascoltare una voce soprannaturale che racconta storie raccapriccianti, mentre fuori ringhiano i lupi. E poi è ancora peggio perché l'autobus si mette in moto per un tour horror con uno scheletro al volante.
