Radical Chic es el agudo artículo en el que Tom Wolfe describe el curioso fenómeno social que surgió a finales de la década de 1960 en Estados Unidos: el interés de la élite neoyorquina por cada posible revolucionario radical, desde antimilitaristas hasta hippies psicodélicos. La famosa definición de Wolfe "radical chic" surgió a raíz de una recepción organizada el 14 de enero de 1970 por Felicia Bernstein, esposa del compositor y director de orquesta Leonard Bernstein, para apoyar la causa de los revolucionarios marxista-leninistas de los Black Panthers. La velada tuvo lugar en el lujoso ático de los Bernstein en Park Avenue, y Wolfe escribió un informe completo y mordaz titulado These Radical Chic Evenings, que se publicó en junio en el New York Magazine.
