Obrazová retrospektivní monografie. Petr Weigl (1939), filmový režisér, má na svém uměleckém kontě kromě řady baletních a operních inscenací (Praha, Bratislava, Mnichov, Berlín, Sevilla, Paříž) především 46 filmových titulů. Natočil je v časovém rozpětí let 1964 – 1998, od počátku sedmdesátých let se datuje jeho spolupráce se zahraničními producenty, která mu umožnila spolupráci i s význačnými světovými umělci Za vrchol Weiglovy tvorby jsou považovány filmově ztvárněné opery. Svou schopností zbavit operu kulis jeviště a nahradit je autentickým prostorem, uměním převést obraz do hudby a hudbu do obrazu s účastí pohybu anebo slova se stal oceňovaným filmovým tvůrcem s osobitým a nezaměnitelným rukopisem.
