Sám autor čtivé, napínavé a věrohodné knihy byl předním pronásledovatelem a především skvělým organizátorem vynikajícího čtyřčlenného týmu, který tuto operaci musel provést v naprostém utajení a v nesmírně obtížných podmínkách. Patnáctileté stíhání hlavního nacistického organizátora vyhlazování Židů skončilo úspěchem roku 1960.
