This thesis consists of four independent and self-contained essays on topics within monetary policy and macroeconomics. Monetary Policy and Liquidity Constraints: Evidence from the Euro Area quantifies the relationship between the response of output to monetary policy shocks and the share of liquidity constrained households. Reconciling Empirics and Theory: The Behavioral Hybrid New Keynesian Model develops and estimates a behavioral New Keynesian model. HANK beyond FIRE studies the interaction between financial and information frictions, and its consequences for the macroeconomy. Inflation Persistence, Noisy Information and the Phillips Curve explains the fall in inflation persistence and the changes in the Phillips curve through information frictions.
