Bhikkhu Buddhadása

Buddhadasa Bhikkhu was a 20th-century Thai Buddhist monk and influential ascetic-philosopher. Recognized as an innovative reinterpreter of Buddhist doctrine and Thai folk beliefs, he fostered a reformation in conventional religious perceptions both in Thailand and internationally. Buddhadasa developed a personal philosophy that those who have penetrated the essential nature of religions consider them inwardly the same, while those with the highest understanding of dhamma feel there is no religion.
