Anemoon is paid to the extent to which a typically Dutch statistical mind developed, while at the same time it provides an insight in the nature of the influences from abroad and their possible interactions. The contributions to this volume show that in spite of the small size of the country, the different ways in which it was pursued remained layered from each other.
