Colecção 120 Anos JN - Grandes Autores Portugueses Bernardim Ribeiro (Vila de Torrão?, século XV?, antes de 1557?) colaborou no "Cancioneiro Geral" (1516) de Garcia de Resende. Mas, pouco se conhece com exactidão da sua vida. Como poeta, é considerado o iniciador do bucolismo em Portugal. Uma das suas mais famosas composições é a novela, incompleta, "Menina e Moça", de índole sentimental, onde a natureza surge como causadora do estado de alma - atitude romântica quatro séculos antes do romantismo. A obra foi editada pela primeira vez em 1554, em Itália, pelo português Abraão Usque. Posteriormente, seria editada em Évora, em 1557, por André de Burgos, e na Alemanha, dois anos mais tarde, pelo impressor Arnold Birckman.
