Matteo Difumato, a Czech-Italian author, initially known as Jiří Zygma, transitioned from acting to focus solely on his writing. His dramatic works often explore profound themes, notably within his 'Hypermodern Deconstruction' trilogy, which includes pieces like 'Barbed Wire,' 'Maneuvers,' and 'Open Field.' Difumato's plays have been staged and read in Prague, and he has also penned original works in Italian, such as the 'Senso unico' trilogy and the satirical epilogue 'Sulla spiaggia.' His cyber-mythological mystery 'Addicted to the Game' was notably chosen as the inaugural production for the new Stará Aréna theatre in Ostrava. While crafting 'Mythomania' during a study abroad in Athens, his most recent play, 'Commentary,' signifies a deliberate shift away from written output due to a perceived lack of appreciation for his previous literary efforts. Difumato's unique identity is shaped by a combination of Silesian nature, Moravian heart, Czech patriotism, and Italian temperament, infusing his narratives with a rich cultural tapestry.
