Jim Dutcher Biography
Jim Dutcher, celebrated for his award-winning filmmaking, dedicated his life to an intense focus on wolves. Equipped with a Forest Service permit, he and his wife lived in a wilderness camp for six years, meticulously documenting the social hierarchy and behavior of the Sawtooth Pack. Having bottle-fed the wolf pups, their experiences revealed these animals to be intelligent and compassionate, leading to three Emmy Award-winning documentaries. Deeply concerned by the ongoing persecution of wolves fueled by public fear and misinformation, the Dutchers established Living With Wolves in 2005. This nonprofit works to address the complex issues surrounding wolf eradication and reintroduction, actively combating laws that permit the brutal hunting of these magnificent animals.
