Bogdan Bogdanovič

Bogdan Bogdanović was a Serbian architect, urbanist, and essayist whose work primarily explored the symbolic and mythical dimensions of urbanism. He served as a dean at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Architecture, and his visionary approach is evident in the monumental memorials and monuments he designed across Yugoslavia. These structures, often sculpted from concrete, commemorate victims and resistance fighters of World War II. Bogdanović emerged as a dissident against rising nationalism, and his legacy continues to provoke thought on the deeper meanings embedded within public spaces.
